The Prayer Team for our “Reaching Up, Reaching Out” Capital Campaign is planning a special prayer event from 9 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, May 3rd. Called Reaching Up In Prayer, it will be an opportunity for members and friends of FUMER to come and spend some time praying for our church, its missions, its vision, & any other concerns on their hearts.
It will take place on the 2nd floor of the church (see map below), where seven different Prayer Stations will be set up. Each Station will have its own theme: • First United Methodist Church • Our Community • Our Nation • Our World, Families, Praise & Gratitude • Personal Walk With Christ There will be prayer “helps” at each Station, such as Bibles, a list of suggested topics to pray about, a printed prayer to use if desired, votive candles to light, & cards to write thoughts or prayer requests on.
There is no set schedule – come when you can, and stay for as long as you like. You may visit as many of the Stations as you want, in whatever order you choose. Feel free to stand, sit or kneel as you pray. Our hope is that you will know that your unique & individual prayers are heard, and also feel a sense of connection and community with our church through taking part in this experience.
All ages are welcome, and child care will be available in the church nursery. Please join us – to be blessed and to be a blessing – in Reaching Up in Prayeron Saturday, May 3rd!
Can’t come to the church that morning? You can still participate, by praying at whatever time & place works for you.
