Heart and Hands
Heart and Hands is governed by a Board and the day-to-day operations are currently being handled by their director, Cathy Howell. It is staffed primarily by volunteers who do various jobs such as distributing, picking up and moving food items, as well as record-keeping. Heart and Hands has 25 - 30 volunteers who work at the food bank, as well as serving on the Board. Volunteers are always needed and receive training. In 2017, over 1,550 food requests were filled.
Heart and Hands is located at the First Baptist Church of Eaton Rapids (entrance is in the rear of the building), and is open Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Donations of non-perishable food, paper products, personal care items and household supplies are always needed and can be dropped off during those hours. You may call (517) 663-7104 for more information. “This institution is an equal opportunity provider” |
