"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." --Matthew 5:4
This group is for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one, whether that be a spouse, child, parent, sibling, friend, etc. This is an informal, ongoing group. It provides an opportunity for grieving individuals to discuss with others the difficulties encountered in working through this process.
We talk, we laugh, we cry – together. We share our thoughts, experiences, concerns, and fears. You need not be a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids to participate. There is no charge, and no reservation is required.
For further information, call Alice Botti at 663-3423 or the church office at 663-3524. The group is facilitated by Alice Botti, a trained Stephen Minister.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP GROUND RULES
To make the Grief Support Group a successful program, an atmosphere of trust and openness must be created. Your pledge to confidentiality is needed to develop that environment. Participation in FUMER’s Grief Support Group requires a responsibility to yourself and to fellow group members to maintain that confidentiality during and after your experience as a group member. Recognize that thoughts and feelings are neither right nor wrong.
