Jan Denton

Jan Denton is a retired elementary/preschool teacher. She began piano lessons at the age of 8 years with the organist of the Methodist Church in Maumee, Ohio. In eighth grade, Jan also began taking organ lessons from her and playing for the church services. She studied organ one year at Bowling Green State University. In each community where she and her husband, Jack, have lived she has served as organist for the church they attended. For two years Jan was the organist for the annual conference of the UMC’s West Michigan District. Jan also plays piano once a week for the residents at Island City Assisted Living and for the local Rotary Club.

Jan and Jack enjoy working together in their yard, golfing, camping, traveling, and spending time with their two sons, daughter-in-laws and two grandsons. Jan also enjoys reading and gardening.
