 Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one caring ministry using lay persons who have received at least 50 hours of training where they learn skills in listening, understanding feelings, and how to help someone involved in a crisis in their lives. Since 1987 our church has helped meet the needs of well over 250 people as they struggle with life issues such as terminal illness, divorce, grief, a job crisis, loneliness, or who may be homebound, disabled, or in a spiritual crisis. If you, or someone you care is going through a difficult time and could use someone to care, to listen and to share God’s love, a Stephen Minister may be able to help get you through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing.Currently 12 Stephen Ministers are active in Stephen Ministry here at First United Methodist Church. A new training class begins each September.
