| Missionaries Information & Support
First United Methodist Church gives many opportunities for persons to be involved in both mission giving and hands-on mission involvement.
Missionaries we support:
- John and Kendra Enright serve as missionaries in Ndola, Zambia. In addition to pasturing a rapidly growing church, John leads a greatly needed and highly successful Pastor School. Students come from Congo,Zambia, Tnanzania, Zimbabwe and Senegal, staying right on the campus of the Kafakumba Training Center. They have two sons, John and Nathan. We support the Enrights at $2,000 per year.
- Dorothy Fredrickson is our missionary to Haiti. She works to develop self-help and health education programs as well, as evangelism. A big emphasis is in the area of AIDS awareness. She continues to find homes for rescued children, organizes gardening efforts, helps volunteer groups build housing for local families, teaches English and a multitude of other ministries. We support Dorothy at $1,000 per year. In addition several of our members help support a family in Haiti a widow with 4 children.
- Neal and Mari Hicks are our missionaries in Japan. Both of them are members of our church and consider it to be their home. Neal is a pastor who works in evangelism, organizes prayer efforts, and works ecumenically with other Christian pastors here. They have two sons, Neal-Hideo and Philip. We support them at $3,600 per year.
- Mark and Rebecca Smallwood are our missionaries at Red Bird Mission in the mountains of Kentucky. Mark teaches band and choral music in grades K-12 at Red Bird Mission School. Rebecca stays home to take care of their son, Nathaniel, age 6 and Leah, age 3. We support the Smallwoods at $2,000 per year.
