Red Cross Blood Drives

Once, every 56 days, the American Red Cross uses FUMER as the location for it's Eaton Rapids Blood Drive.  Since the summer of 2001, the Eaton Rapids area has donated hundreds of pints of blood to meet hospital and emergency needs.

In addition to professional Red Cross staff, key jobs are handled by volunteers from FUMER who assist with registration of donors, refreshments, caring blood donation units, and setting-up and moving equipment and supplies.  Anyone, 17 or older, who weighs more than 110 pounds, and has a pictured ID (or a donor card), may seek to donate blood.  Everyone who seeks to donate will first participate in a confidential health and medications review, with Red Cross staff.  You do not need an appointment, although appointments are always available.  Walk-ins are always welcome! 

You may call FUMER volunteers Sharon Nelson (628-2725), or Roz Bullen (663-8800) for additional information, or to volunteer.  Or, just stop by and see the operation and talk with the volunteers.  It's a very enjoyable way to do volunteer work, and with a very worthy cause!
