Building Use Policy

  1. Owner agrees to let User use First United Methodist Church Room(s) for the described purpose on the reverse side of this form.
  2. User agrees that it will not use the premises for any unlawful purposes, and will obey all laws, rules and regulations of all governmental authorities while using the above described facilities.
  3. User agrees to abide by any rules or regulations for the use of the premises that are attached to this agreement.
  4. User agrees to hold harmless, indemnify and defend Owner (including Owner’s agents, employees, and representatives) from any and all liability for injury or damage including but not limited to bodily injury, personal injury, emotional injury, or property damage which may result from any person using the above described premises, its entrances and exits, and surrounding areas, for User’s purposes, regardless of whether such injury or damage results from the negligence of the Owner (including Owner’s agents, employees and representatives) or otherwise.
  5. User agrees that it will not assign any of its rights under this agreement, and any such assignment will void this agreement at the sole option of the Owner.
  6. Owner and User agree to attempt to resolve any disputes arising under this agreement via a mutually acceptable alternative dispute resolution process.

First Church sees the use of the church and its facilities to further the vision that God has given to this congregation, which is to provide a loving home for individuals to come to know and serve the Lord Jesus Christ in our community and beyond.

  • Please no smoking inside Church building.
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs permitted on Church property.
  • Areas of the building used (including chairs, tables, coffee pots) must be picked up when you leave.
  • Food and beverages are to be confined to appropriate eating areas. Beverages with red dye (example: red punch) are prohibited in the new area.
  • User must contact Church office to schedule a room, share any special room set-up, and provide the name and phone number of the contact person.
  • Children should be confined to assigned room or be attended by a teenager/adult.

Church groups, Small Blessings, and Church Basketball League - no charge and these groups have priority.

Money making groups - There will be a 10% charge of their profits and First Church reserves the right to charge a custodial fee.

THE CHARGE FOR ANY EVENT THAT THE KITCHEN IS USED BY A CHURCH MEMBER OR NONMEMBER FOR NON-CHURCH SPONSORED EVENT IS AS FOLLOWS:

  • Up to 25 people .................

These are charges for Kitchen only and do not include the Fellowship Hall. There will be no charge
for UMW members for kitchen use.

There will be no charge for kitchen use for any funeral luncheon, but any donation made by the
family for the food and services provided by the UMW will be graciously accepted.

The damage deposit of $75.00 is due at time of rental and will be returned at the conclusion of the
event when the kitchen has been checked by the UMW Kitchen Monitor for damages. UMW will
supervise kitchen use, but will not stay during the event.

Leave any dirty kitchen towels or dish clothes on counter.

Garbage should be put in the dumpster in the parking lot at the conclusion of event and garbage
bags should be replaced (in Lazy Susan next to kitchen door).

No meal preparation can be made in the kitchen. The stove can only be used to keep items warm.

The kitchen must be left clean and all personal items removed by 10:00 p.m.

You may NOT use the following: *Dishwasher *Beige Refrigerator *Freezer
*Food items (salt, pepper, coffee, creamer, etc.) *Table Covers *Vases/Flowers

The following items CAN be used:

  1. Educational rooms, Narthex
    1. Member per use $15 Dollars/Monthly $35
    2. Non-member per use $25 dollars/Monthly $45
      Any set-up will require minimum one (1) hour custodian fee
  2. Upper room, Music room, Pine room, Library
    1. Member per use $25 dollars/Monthly $50
    2. Non-member per use $50 dollars/Monthly $75
      Any set-up will require minimum one (1) hour custodian fee
  3. Fellowship Hall, Sanctuary
    1. Member per use $75 dollars/Monthly $150
    2. Non-member per use $200 dollars/Monthly $400
      Any set-up will require two (2) hour minimum custodian fee
  4. Custodian and child care fees
    • Custodian fee is $20 dollars per hour
    • Childcare fee for non-church groups is $20 dollars per hour per child care
      giver.

Liability:

First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. The Church is not liable for accidents or injuries due to athletic or social events. I have read and understood the above policy. I agree to abide by its provisions.
